GTA 6 limited-edition DualSense controllers revealed at State of Play — Vice City Black and White
Sony unveiled two official GTA VI DualSense controllers — Black and White Limited Editions inspired by Vice City — at the September 3 State of Play. They launch November 19 at $84.99 / €84.99, with pre-orders starting September 10.

"Vice City has a style all its own," writes Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, on the official PlayStation.Blog post that confirms the news: Sony has unveiled two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers bearing the Grand Theft Auto VI name — the Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition. They were revealed during today's State of Play broadcast.
The reveal is the first officially branded GTA VI hardware and the most visible sign yet of the Sony–Rockstar partnership in the run-up to launch (PlayStation Universe). GTA VI still arrives on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, but Sony is leaning into the PS5 as the game's showcase platform: the Extended Look footage was captured on a standard PS5, and now the console gets controllers dressed in Vice City colors.
Vice City energy, from sunset to neon
According to PlayStation.Blog, the two designs each "capture the essence of Vice City, from bright days along the coast to vibrant city nights." The Black edition channels the energy of the city's iconic nightlife, while the White edition draws on "white sands and pastel skies" and its laid-back glamour.
Both feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that blends the hues of a Vice City sunset with the glow of neon lights, plus custom palm-tree details molded directly into the controller alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding. GameSpot, which covered the announcement, calls the result "fantastic" — and the photos circulating after the broadcast have drawn a clearly positive reaction.
Haptics and adaptive triggers, front and center
The announcement also sells the PS5's signature features. PlayStation.Blog reiterates that in GTA VI, the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers "instantly respond to the action and provide dynamic resistance, bringing the sights, sounds and sensations of Jason and Lucia's story to life in your hands." These capabilities are standard to every DualSense rather than exclusive to the limited editions, but the message is clear: Sony wants GTA VI to be experienced on its controller.
Price, release date and availability
The two limited-edition controllers launch starting November 19 — the same day as the game — at a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD / ¥12,480 (tax included) / €84.99 / £74.99. Pre-orders open on September 10 at 10:00 am local time (7:00 am PT / 10:00 am ET in the United States).
Availability differs between the models, and it is strictly limited. The White edition will be sold in limited quantities through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers. The Black edition is more exclusive: "limited quantities exclusively through direct.playstation.com where available," and select retailers in other regions. PlayStation's direct store operates in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria; Portuguese players can pre-order via playstation.com/store/hardware. Sony notes that eligible direct orders get free launch-day delivery, and that the exact launch date may vary by country.
The final stretch is getting official
Eleven weeks before launch, the merchandising machine is warming up. The controller announcement follows last week's quiet distribution of custom GTA VI neon signs to a handful of content creators — a gift Rockstar never announced or sold. This time the products are real, priced and open to everyone, at least while stock lasts. With limited quantities on both editions and pre-orders opening more than two months before release, collectors may want to be at their keyboard on September 10.
