GTA 6 posters are going up on shop walls — and the £67.99 pre-order slips inside
TL;DR

Official GTA VI posters are now appearing on the outside of shops: RockstarINTEL published photos on September 23, 2026 of an A1 poster on a store building at a UK retail park, sent out by Rockstar and Take-Two to selected retailers such as Smyths Toys. Inside the same store, A4 slips advertise pre-orders at £67.99, against a £69.99 UK recommended price, and the poster's 18+ PEGI badge is still on

The short answer

GTA VI has left the screen and reached the car park. RockstarINTEL, the Rockstar-focused outlet that has followed this campaign storefront by storefront, published photographs on September 23 of an official A1-sized GTA VI poster fixed to the exterior wall of a shop in a British retail park. Per RockstarINTEL, the posters are distributed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive to a selected group of retailers, with UK chain Smyths Toys named as one of them. Neither publisher has said a word about the material.

A1 on the wall, £67.99 on the counter

The most concrete detail in the report is not the artwork but a price. Inside the same store, RockstarINTEL describes "lots of A4 pieces of paper" telling customers they can pre-order GTA VI for £67.99 — which the outlet notes is "a little less than the recommended retail price". The UK Standard Edition carries a £69.99 recommended price, with the Ultimate at £89.99, so the in-store offer undercuts the shelf price by two pounds.

That is a mild discount by any measure, but it matters for one reason: pre-orders for this game have been open since June 25, 2026, and the four million or so already recorded were overwhelmingly digital. An A4 slip in a toy shop is the first piece of retail arithmetic the campaign has produced in Britain, and it points the same way as the earlier finding that Amazon has been listing the Standard Edition roughly £2 below the recommended price.

November 12, the date printed in the store

RockstarINTEL also gives the practical half of the puzzle: the codes in boxes can be picked up from November 12, a week before the game itself releases. That date is not the outlet's estimate — UK retailer Smyths Toys announced it publicly on X on June 25, 2026, when pre-orders opened: "Pre-load starting on the 12th of November. Preorders collection and delivery will be for the 12th of November but game is playable from the 19th of November."

Read the two sentences together and the structure of the launch is clear. North America and Europe can start pulling files on November 12, anyone buying a boxed copy can collect a voucher that same day, and nothing is playable before November 19. What the box does not contain is a disc: GTA VI's physical edition is a download code in a plastic case, a format Rockstar and Take-Two have defended as what buyers now expect.

The 18+ badge is not final yet

One element of the poster will attract the most questions, and it is the smallest. The 18+ PEGI badge printed on the artwork is provisional, RockstarINTEL writes, adding that a final rating will be published in the coming weeks. That is consistent with the state of play all autumn: every storefront serving the game has been showing a provisional label rather than a final certificate, and no descriptor list has been published yet.

For retailers, the badge is enough to put a poster on a wall and take pre-orders. For parents, the practical reading is unchanged — the game is being sold as an adults-only title on current labelling, and the definitive certificate should land before launch rather than after.

Why this retail run looks nothing like 2013

RockstarINTEL's own framing is that these posters are survivor items rather than the start of a flood. "There are not many retail chains offering physical code in box copies compared to 2013 when every store had discs of GTA V," the outlet writes, recalling small and large posters, plastic bags and cardboard standees spread across supermarkets, tech shops and department stores. Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 had a comparable footprint — the author still owns a standee retrieved shortly after that launch.

Two things have changed since. The box no longer holds anything to install, and some chains have decided that is a deal-breaker: Video Games Plus, a Canadian retailer that has been selling games for close to forty years, said it will not stock a console product that contains nothing but a download code. Fewer units on fewer shelves is the result, which is precisely why RockstarINTEL expects the current run of A1 posters to end up as collector's items.

What to expect before November 19

More shops should receive limited display material as the launch approaches, per RockstarINTEL. Those posters slot into the wider physical campaign already running: Spotify's GTA VI billboards in Los Angeles, Miami and New York from September 16, and the municipal signage approved in Miami-Dade, where a rooftop sign on the Kaseya Center went up on September 22.

Remove the razzle for a moment and a single calendar remains. 57 days separate this poster rollout from November 19, 2026, the date GTA VI arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preloading begins November 12, boxed vouchers can be collected the same day, and no PC version has been announced.
