GTA 6 activities and mini-games: the full breakdown from the Extended Look
A world that is meant to be lived in
The Extended Look made clear that GTA VI is not only about the story of Jason and Lucia. French outlet Rockstar Mag compiled every activity and mini-game visible in the 26-minute presentation, and the list reads like a San Andreas wish list finally fulfilled: combat sports, team sports, outdoor recreation, racing in three different forms and the usual Rockstar staples — all of it framed as things you do in Vice City rather than missions you complete (Rockstar Mag).
Combat and sports
Boxing makes a return, and the footage shows it in two settings: the indoor ring already glimpsed in the second trailer, where Lucia fights, and a rougher outdoor ring in a poorer neighborhood where Jason takes on an opponent. Rockstar Mag notes the combat physics on display — Jason lifts his adversary and throws him to the ground — and speculates, based on Red Dead Redemption 2's hand-to-hand system and The Ballad of Gay Tony's cage fights, on rounds, parries and combos. Basketball is also confirmed: courts around Vice City, plus a hoop right at Jason's stilt house, with the ball appearing in the HUD — a nod to San Andreas. Gym sessions return too, and they are interactive: Lucia lifts weights with trigger-based timing (25 pounds per hand, 50 total), a coach supervises, and the muscle system is back with visible consequences (Rockstar Mag).
Outdoors and water
Scuba gear appears, which Rockstar Mag reads as a sign that underwater exploration will go further than GTA V — photography, sunken treasure or collectibles are all plausible. Canoe and kayak paddling are new to the series. Fishing is present, alone or as a couple, with the ever-present Cal Hampton; whether fish can be sold or legendary fish exist, like in Red Dead Redemption 2, remains unknown. Skydiving and base jumping are back, with the outlet expecting Ballad of Gay Tony-style challenges — landing on moving vehicles or passing checkpoints before touchdown.
Racing, three ways
The Extended Look shows three distinct racing formats. Circuit racing on an asphalt track with 16 participants and two laps, complete with lap times and purple checkpoint halos; off-road racing through Leonida's muddy zones with 12 entrants on motocross bikes, quads and 4x4s; and illegal night street racing — sprints from point A to point B with six tuned cars and a copilot whose role is unclear (Rockstar Mag).
The rest of Vice City life
Target shooting is a new outdoor timed course where headshots knock the panels down. The "trunk challenge" has an NPC filming live from the boot while you drive dangerously — you can watch the feed with the right stick. TV returns with its absurd shows and ad breaks, beach lounging with your partner is a thing, and strip clubs are back, for Jason and Lucia. Heists can be done solo or as a couple, and robbing together strengthens the relationship — convenience stores, gas stations and banks in free mode. Nightclubs appear in the footage but are not fully confirmed yet (Rockstar Mag).
As with everything shown before release, treat the details as Rockstar Mag's reading of the footage rather than official confirmations — the game still has to prove it all on November 19.
