GTA 6's hyper-detailed characters have the internet's fetishists in a frenzy — Vice takes notes
The internet reacts — exactly as predicted
When Rockstar aired the 26-minute "Extended Look" at the end of last week, first on Netflix and then on YouTube, analysts measured the records. The community measured something else: the level of detail on the two protagonists. In a Monday briefing published on August 31, Vice's Adam Christopher Smith documents the wave of "unhinged horniness" that followed — and, as he puts it, the outpouring has been "led by online fetishists" (Vice).
Lucia: from heels to physics compilations
The game follows a couple, Jason Duval and Lucia Camino, and for many players the novelty is the relationship itself — a glimpse of something most of them have never simulated in a game before, Vice observes. The quality of the in-game footage did the rest: one X account went viral with a "Lucia's Ass Jiggle Physics Compilation," and a good part of the "30 fps simping" has focused on Lucia's feet. Accounts entirely dedicated to screenshots and clips of an animated woman in high heels have appeared, and a community answering to the name "Lucia Toe Club" is now a thing you can find (Vice).
The obsession even extends to the details Rockstar's animation team presumably spent months perfecting: discussions about the drops of sweat on her back, or whether she does or doesn't have armpit hair.
Jason, the other half of the psychosexual dreamscape
Lucia isn't the only one recruited into the memes. Jason — whom one part of the community has nicknamed her "big beefy boyfriend" — has been labeled "a cuck," a word Vice notes is both the manosphere's favorite putdown and an increasingly popular type of adult content. The co-op angle also produced one of the week's best posts, quoted by Vice: "I'm scared that there won't be a co-op mode for story because just imagine cracking Lucia knowing that your homie is controlling her" (Vice).
Fan edits vs. Rockstar's no-AI pledge
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will contain no generative AI at launch — but that hasn't stopped players from producing increasingly lascivious edits themselves. Vice notes that one of the milder fakes was even used to illustrate a lengthy post claiming the game is a "psyop" to "reprogram every gringo's brain into thinking latinos are the main character now" — proof, if needed, that the strangest reactions to this trailer aren't necessarily the horny ones (Vice).
What to keep in mind
This is a cultural story, not a leak: nothing here reveals new gameplay or story information. It does, however, say something about the game's reach — a two-minute look at two characters rendered at this fidelity is enough to keep entire communities busy for a weekend, months before release. Vice's own conclusion is probably the most reasonable one: get a new gaming chair and "strap in for a long, horny winter." GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
