GTA 6: fans spot the first military vehicle of the Extended Look — a Mammoth Patriot at Vice City International Airport

The first military vehicle fans have spotted

Nearly a week after the premiere of GTA VI: An Extended Look, the community is still freezing every frame of the 26-minute presentation — and the latest find is a vehicle rather than a scenery detail. In a post on r/GTA6+, player SpreadAgile shares a screenshot taken at Vice City International Airport and identifies a Mammoth Patriot, describing it as "the first one I've spotted in the game" among military vehicles (Reddit). "We haven't seen much about the military vehicles so far," the post reads, with the author wondering whether the SUV is meant to be airport security or something closer to the National Guard.

The sighting fits the airport's brief but memorable appearance in the Extended Look, where Jason and Lucia are seen working a security detail around a private jet. As with most freeze-frame analysis, Rockstar has not commented — the vehicle could be a scripted prop, part of the airport's static dressing, or a fully drivable model. None of it is officially confirmed.

A returning classic of the HD era

The identification matters because the Patriot is a familiar name. Built by Mammoth and heavily based on the real-world Hummer H2, the enormous, boxy SUV has appeared across the HD universe — GTA IV, GTA V and GTA Online — with both civilian and military-flavored variants (GTA Wiki). Seeing it again in Leonida is exactly the kind of continuity nod the community tracks closely, the way it did with the returning character spotted in the same trailer cycle.

Airport security, National Guard or something bigger?

The interesting part is the question the sighting raises rather than the vehicle itself. In GTA V, the army only appeared at the highest wanted levels, spawning soldiers and armored vehicles once the police were overwhelmed. GTA VI has already confirmed a six-star wanted level — one more than GTA V — and the presence of military hardware at the airport invites speculation about how the National Guard or the military will be used in the pursuit system. Fans on the thread are already asking which vehicles the military could field when the stars hit maximum.

The community's curiosity is understandable: military presence is one of the most reliable indicators of how far Rockstar will push the wanted system, and the Extended Look gave little away on that front.

Read it as what it is

As with every detail extracted from the Extended Look so far, this is a fan observation, not an official statement. The high-bitrate 14 GB version of the presentation quietly released by Rockstar has made freeze-framing easier, but a single parked SUV does not confirm a military system — it only confirms that a Mammoth Patriot exists in the world of GTA VI, at least as scenery. Whether it is drivable, shootable or reserved for scripted moments will only be known when the game lands on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
