GTA 6's Extended Look is full of real cars: the Chevelle, the E30 and the Cullinan all make the cut
The parody of reality, one car at a time
The parody of the real world has always been GTA's whole schtick, and that extends to the cars you will be stealing. In "An Extended Look", the 26-minute gameplay premiere that aired on Netflix on August 27 before spreading across YouTube, Rockstar doubles down on vehicles that are clearly inspired by real products while staying just on the right side of copyright law. Jalopnik's Chris Tsui froze every frame and compiled the real-life counterparts of the game's new fleet.
A hero car that looks like a Chevelle
Right after the opening mission, where Jason and Lucia shoot their way out of an apartment complex, the pair breaks into what appears to be one of the game's hero cars: a red muscle car seemingly inspired by the Chevy Chevelle. The same scene shows that stealing a car is no longer a one-button affair — GTA VI offers options like smashing the window or using a slim jim, and IGN reports that newer vehicles will require working around electronic security systems. In the background, Jalopnik spots abstractions of older American metal such as the Dodge Durango and the Buick Roadmaster.
E30 vibes in a Vice City convertible
A quick shot of a jogger lets a lifted Ford F-150 facsimile rumble past, V8 and all. Then comes the first real driving sequence, in a ride that seemingly belongs to Jason: a red convertible that looks an awful lot like a BMW E30 3 Series. In the GTA universe, this is the Sentinel — a hardtop version already exists in GTA Online — and Jason puts the top down just like in GTA V.
From there, the screen fills with lookalikes: a previous-gen Dodge Challenger, a Charger, an Audi TT, a Ram 1500, a 10th-gen Honda Accord, a modern convertible Camaro, a new-gen Range Rover, a Chevy Suburban, a Toyota RAV4, a third-gen BMW X5, a high-performance Cadillac sedan, a big Lincoln SUV, a purple C7 Corvette and, later at night, an Audi A4. "There are a lot of cars, OK?" Tsui writes.
Ocean Drive, the Schafter and the police
A brawl on what looks like Vice City's version of Ocean Drive shows a Mercedes G-Wagen, a pink Lamborghini-esque supercar being towed, a red Acura NSX-like coupe and a yellow Crown Vic taxi. Later, Lucia leads a huge chase in a black sedan that strongly resembles the W212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class — in-universe the Schafter, a name that has been around since GTA IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony. Jason hangs out of the rear window firing at police cars and helicopters, and the standard cop car appears to be based on the Dodge Charger this time, not the Taurus used in GTA V.
Track racing, street racing and the airport convoy
Track-based racing makes a big entrance: a BMW M4-like machine battles a Challenger, a Charger, GTA's Ford Mustang equivalent and an Infiniti G35. Street racing is alive too — a night clip shows stickered-up cars including an R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R with neon underglow, a Porsche Cayman and exotics that look like a Lamborghini Diablo and a Ferrari SF90. Finally, a private-security mission sees the protagonists leave the airport in a fleet of black luxury SUVs, with the player's ride clearly inspired by the Rolls-Royce Cullinan — while a partygoer films themselves from what looks a lot like a Bugatti Chiron. A closing montage even shows a seaside car meet with a newer Schafter wearing a pre-facelift W213 E-Class front end.
As Jalopnik notes, a diligent pause-button user could probably build a list dozens of cars long. GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
