Chinese outlet 3DM, which published the images, reports that game bloggers were among the first to share them (3DM). The new stills showcase Jason and Lucia in action scenes as well as a variety of Leonida environments, and the most striking takeaway echoed across the coverage is the level of detail — faces, clothing and body language that look almost photorealistic.
What the screenshots show
According to 3DM, the images capture the criminal duo in the middle of their routine, moments consistent with what Rockstar already showed in the Extended Look that aired on Netflix on August 27 — a presentation that opened with a gang-district shootout before settling into the pair's shared apartment (3DM). The screenshots also show off Vice City's streets, dense traffic and the sheer crowd of NPCs that has become a signature of this generation: the studio has confirmed more than 600,000 unique NPC animations, over ten times the count in GTA V.
A step closer to photorealism
Player reaction, gathered by 3DM in a companion gallery, has focused on the female character designs. Lucia and the other characters are singled out for their distinct style and a visual finish that players describe as closer to photographic realism than anything Rockstar has shipped before (3DM). Facial detail, body dynamics and the natural feel of movement and turning animations were all called out as visibly improved, and the variety of outfits and environments suggests more freedom in how characters can be presented and customized.
