For weeks, the anonymous leaker known as Cyberleek had drip-fed GTA 6 material that stayed mostly on the safe side: gameplay snippets, open-world roaming, menus and mechanics. That changed abruptly. According to Mashable, Cyberleek made good on a threat and posted the first major story spoilers of the campaign: roughly four and a half minutes of the game's prologue, centered on the playable character Lucia Caminos (Mashable).
The footage, shared in a Telegram channel, shows Lucia's opening sequence inside a Leonida prison — the context in which players first meet her, and apparently how she ends up behind bars. TechWiser, which counts it as the 16th leaked GTA 6 clip, describes it as a detailed walkthrough of the women's prison and an early look at the game's opening (TechWiser). Screen Rant adds that the leaked segment reveals how players will start the game, calling it "major spoilers" for the beginning scenes (Screen Rant). A deliberate escalation
The timing reads like an escalation. The prologue clips surfaced shortly after Rockstar issued a public statement about the leaks, calling them "heartbreaking" and warning that some of the stolen material could contain spoilers (Eurogamer). Cyberleek had previously threatened to release more damaging content, and the prologue leak delivered on that promise within hours of Rockstar's plea.
The leaker also used the drop to question the state of the game: according to The Game Post, Cyberleek claimed the recent build shown in the footage is "still far from ready for launch" (The Game Post). As with everything from the account, that claim is unconfirmed — and it should be read with the usual caution, given that leaked builds are by definition unfinished and unrepresentative of the final product.
What it means for the launch
Until now, the leaked material could be dismissed as unfinished gameplay that fans had largely seen in some form. The prologue is different: it is the narrative entry point of the game, and for many players it will be the first minutes they experience on November 19. That makes it more sensitive for Rockstar — and more valuable for a leaker who has openly framed the campaign as a protest against the publisher's digital-only pre-orders and always-online requirements.
Rockstar has not commented on the authenticity of the specific prologue footage, and neither Take-Two nor the studio has confirmed or denied the details circulating online. The legal response, meanwhile, continues in parallel: Take-Two has filed subpoenas against X, Google, Microsoft and Discord in its hunt for whoever is behind Cyberleek (Mashable).
For now, the practical advice from outlets covering the story is simple: if you want to discover how GTA 6 opens on day one, avoid the prologue clips circulating on Telegram and social platforms. The leak is real in the sense that it exists — but like every other piece of the Cyberleek campaign, it shows an unfinished build, out of context, and at war with the studio that made it.
