What is in the box
The fan kit is short and specific. A neon lightbox carrying the GTA 6 logo, 3D-printed. A controller stand whose model was taken from the MakerWorld open-source library and then customised by its author so the Turtle Beach Pacific Skyline pad sits properly on it. The author's starting point is the part worth keeping: he says he decided to build the set himself because Rockstar Games has still not released an official pre-order bundle for the game (GameGPU). Comments under the post praised the enthusiasm and the quality of the decorative pieces — and this is not an isolated project: a 3D-printed GTA VI wallet surfaced on the same subreddit a few days earlier.
Why a fan had to build it
Rockstar has announced exactly two editions of GTA VI: the $79.99 Standard and the $99.99 Ultimate, the latter adding in-game digital content rather than a physical collectible. The "physical" copies are discs-free code-in-a-box releases, which leaves buyers who want a keepsake with nothing to put on a shelf (GTA 6 Collector's Edition: the leaked 'Vice City: Leonida' box).
That gap has already produced one story this month. On September 9, photos of a large black box branded "Vice City: Leonida" circulated on X, posted by an account claiming to work at a Mexican packaging company; the images were deleted soon after and never authenticated. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had earlier promised a "big physical component", a phrase that never matched the disc-less SKUs actually put on sale.
The obvious objection, and the creator's answer
Some replies raised the unofficial origin of the items. The creator's response, as relayed by GameGPU, was practical: he bought the materials with bonus points, and he still plans to purchase the official Collector's Edition from Rockstar if the studio decides to release one closer to launch.
That framing — build it now, buy it later — is where most of the community landed. Nobody is presenting the kit as a substitute for an official product; it is what fans do while they wait.
What fans have already made themselves

The useful signal before November 19 is packaging.
