GTA 6's Stockyard: Rockstar opens Wynwood Walls free to Miami-Dade residents until 2028
TL;DR

On October 13, 2026, the Wynwood Walls Museum said Miami-Dade County residents get free entry to its 62,000-square-foot campus through 2028, thanks to a presenting partnership with Rockstar Games (museum press release). The same release names an area of GTA 6's Vice City for the first time outside leaked material: 'Stockyard', the district inspired by Wynwood. Ten murals painted from GTA 6 in-game

The short answer: a district called Stockyard, free entry until 2028

Miami-Dade County residents can enter the Wynwood Walls Museum for free from October 13, 2026 through 2028, under a presenting partnership with Rockstar Games. The same announcement handed GTA 6 a place name the studio had never published on its own: Stockyard, the area of Vice City inspired by Miami's Wynwood art district. The museum described the arrangement as "one of the most significant community access programs in the history of Miami's cultural landscape."

What the free admission actually covers

According to the museum's press release, any resident presenting a valid photo ID with a Miami-Dade County address at the Welcome Center can set up a digital membership and enter free during opening hours, from today until the end of 2028. The campus is 62,000 square feet and holds more than 35 murals and 10 sculptures. Access includes the rotating outdoor works, indoor exhibitions at the Goldman Global Arts Gallery, hands-on spray-painting sessions, and the museum's new artist-in-residence program.

Visitors from outside the county keep paying: tickets are $12 for adults, with reduced rates for youth, seniors, military personnel, teachers, first responders and visitors with disabilities, and free entry for children under 12. Rockstar's involvement is described as a partnership that made the initiative possible, not as a purchase of the museum's programming. "I am filled with gratitude to Rockstar Games for their visionary support of this initiative," said Jessica Goldman Srebnick, CEO and curator of Wynwood Walls.

Ten murals, painted from artwork that lives inside the game

To launch the free-admission programme, the museum and Rockstar unveiled ten new murals built from original in-game artwork commissioned for GTA VI. They stay on display until January 1, produced by Goldman Global Arts and painted by Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton, alongside two Miami-based artists, ATOMIK and Tatiana Suarez. Eaton's piece is installed on the Wynwood Walls campus; the other nine are distributed across the surrounding neighbourhood.

The press release is explicit that the artwork is not a promo illustration: work by these same artists appears inside Grand Theft Auto VI, joining the street and tattoo artists curated for the game by 1XRUN, the Detroit-based creative agency and public art producer. That matches what Rockstar has said about its Miami research — Eurogamer reported in August that the studio commissioned more than 50 real street artists for districts including the Stockyard.

The gallery already had a name in the game's files

GTA 6's version of Wynwood Walls has been documented for months. GTA Wiki's entry on the "Stockyard Walls" describes a street art gallery located in Stockyard, Vice City, within Vice-Dale County, made up of local buildings covered in murals, with artists including Sonni and Lady AIKO. The wiki traces it through official artwork of Raul Bautista released with the game's second trailer, then through the "Rideout Customs" clip that circulated in the August 2026 leak wave, and points to the real gallery at 2516 NW 2nd Avenue as its direct counterpart.

The wiki also records a nice detail of the loop closing in the other direction: a piece from the game reading "We ♡ Vice City" was recreated as a real street art piece in the Wynwood district, at 400 NW 26th Street in Miami. The distinction worth keeping is one of sourcing. The district name has so far lived in datamined material and fan documentation; the October 13 press release is the first time it appears in a formal announcement connected to the game.

15 artists on a T-shirt, and a third GTA 6 merch line in three weeks

Alongside the murals, the museum opened pre-orders on October 13 for "The Wynwood Walls Art of Vice City Collection," a capsule of apparel and accessories featuring work by the 15 participating artists. RockstarINTEL, which broke the story, describes the drop as live and listing tees, keyrings and more. Note that the two documents count people differently: the press release refers to 15 participating artists for the capsule, while RockstarINTEL writes of "more than a dozen artists" with original artwork in the game — overlapping groups, not necessarily the same roll call.

It is the third GTA 6 merchandise programme to open in 21 days, and the three have almost nothing in common commercially. The Rockstar Store's "The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection" collector's box sells for $399.99, or £349.99 in the UK, holds eleven items, ships on November 19 and does not include the game (Forbes; GTA Wiki). The Miami HEAT's "Vice City Collection" went on sale on October 2 with 14 items from $45 to $110. This one is tied to a neighbourhood and to the artists actually credited in the game, not to a team or a character.

What this tells us, and what it doesn't

The announcement is the museum's: its press release and its own Instagram post are the two primary documents, with RockstarINTEL's report as the trade write-up. Nothing here describes gameplay, a map expansion, a release-window change or new footage. What it does establish is that Rockstar is spending marketing money on real Miami institutions built around people whose work is genuinely in the game, roughly five weeks before GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.

For readers trying to place Stockyard on the map, the district sits on the eastern edge of Vice City in the material documented so far, and the mural gallery is its landmark. Treat that geography as fan documentation rather than a Rockstar statement — the studio has not drawn the district for us yet.
